The Red Devils will be looking to bounce back from their 21-7 loss to Oak Park Friday and avoid a similar losing streak that occurred last season, when their loss to the Huskies was the first of three in a row.

Neither team can afford to fall any further behind in the West Suburban Conference Silver Division race in which York and Oak Park currently lead at 2-0.

Despite the loss, Hinsdale Central is still allowing just 8.8 points per game, led by tackle Jack DiNardo (40 tackles, 2 sacks) and linebacker Matt Kajmowicz (34 tackles, 4 sacks).

Downers North regrouped from its 14-7 loss to York in Week 3 with a 27-0 win over Proviso West Friday. The Trojans return just five players with varsity experience from last year?s team that finished 9-2 and advanced to the second round of the Class 8A playoffs.

First-year senior quarterback Brendan Briscoe (6-foot-3, 180 pounds), who also is a standout basketball and baseball player, rushed for 151 yards against Proviso West and leads the team in rushing (292 yards) for the season. He has completed just 11 of 29 passes for 139 yards, with three interceptions and no touchdowns. Senior receiver Pat Galligan (5-10, 184) is the lone returning starter on offense and leads the team with six receptions for 105 yards. Junior running back Mike Krygeris has rushed for 242 yards on 41 carries (5.9 yards per attempt) and scored three touchdowns.

Briscoe, who plays safety, also leads the team in tackles (15) and has an interception. Two-way tackle Dex McAuley (6-1, 240) has 13 tackles and a team-high four sacks, while linebacker Nick Deihl has 13 tackles and a sack.
