Hinsdale Central
A Neuqua Valley play in which the running back fumbled the pitch and later recovered it for the touchdown proved to be the winning score in a 29-26 Class 8A playoff loss for the Red Devils.
Central (7-3) led twice in the game, first on Brady Garber’s 32-yard field goal in the first quarter and then in the third quarter when Christian Bobak scored on an 11-yard run to make it 19-14.
Neuqua scored later in the third and again in the fourth quarter for a 29-19 lead that proved too much to overcome for the Red Devils.
Bobak rushed for 134 yards, including a 2-yard run in the second quarter that made it a 14-10 deficit for Central. Garber had a 27-yard field goal before intermission.
