Safety Eck comes up big vs. Hinsdale South; trio of WRs stepping in for injured Bunting

Hinsdale Central free safety Andrew Eck displayed a knack for making big plays at opportune times during the Red Devils' 34-27 victory Saturday against rival Hinsdale South.
Eck, a senior, recovered a fumble to stop a Hornets scoring threat and help his team maintain a 27-21 lead late in the third quarter. Eck stepped up again in the final seconds by intercepting Hinsdale South quarterback D.J. Deolitsis' deep pass near the 20-yard line to preserve the victory.
Seconds after the victory that extended Hinsdale Central's streak to 11 in the annual series, the 6-foot, 175-pound Eck had one last important move to make: grab the Doings Cup trophy and carry it into the postgame huddle.
