Devils handle Hornets, retain grip on Doings Cup

Hinsdale Central used big offensive games from quarterback Alex Hodakowski and running back John Skokna to defeat Hinsdale South 48-13 Friday and retain possession of The Doings Cup traveling trophy awarded to the annual winner of the District 86 showdown.

The Red Devils (2-3) now own a 16-12 lead in the series and have won the game the nine years in a row � the longest winning streak by either school in the series.

On the Red Devils' first play from scrimmage, Skokna scored on a 52-yard run and the Red Devils were off and running. After a three-and-out, they scored touchdowns on their next three possessions for a 27-6 halftime lead and touchdowns on their first two possessions of the second half to open a 41-6 advantage in the third quarter.
