The Hinsdale Central-Hinsdale South Doings Cup football rivalry continues Friday night in Darien with the same promise of an all-out scrum despite their records of 2-2 and 0-4 respectively.
It will be a test for Central quarterback John Whitelaw and a growing fleet of receivers led by Alex Kirk going against one of the biggest high-school lines in Illinois with veterans Cody Kuhlman (285 pounds), Dane DeKing (280) and Joe Czaja (300).
Kuhlman could be a difference maker with his booming punts. "He's really special, a true Division I player," South coach Alex Bitto said.
Kuhlman has two jerseys: No. 77 as a lineman and No. 99 as an eligible tight-end receiver.
A key player from each team will be missing.
