Twice during a second-half drive Friday night, Hinsdale Central faced a fourth-down situation against rival Hinsdale South.

Both times, the Red Devils decided to go for the first down. They were able to convert both opportunities.

When faced with the potential game-changing scenario, Hinsdale Central entrusted the ball to senior running back Matt Bobak, who ran behind a talented offensive line.

It was a successful formula all night, as Bobak ran for 160 yards and two touchdowns and the Red Devils earned a 21-12 victory in Hinsdale to retain the Doings Cup.

The Red Devils (7-2) were clinging to a 14-12 lead in the third quarter when they went for it on fourth down instead of trying to pin the Hornets (6-3) deep in their own territory.
