'Homecoming is a little bit different'

Despite the many distractions of homecoming, we managed to come out Saturday ready to play.

We beat Downers Grove North 41-13. Our defense played awesome, and they set us up for a lot of scores.

It was nice to see them all on the same page and playing with confidence.

The atmosphere for homecoming is a little bit different; for the first half the crowd was packed and very loud. The second half on homecoming is always a little quiet because people are getting ready for the dance, but we still managed to stay focused and motivated.

This was the 75th anniversary of the Old Oaken Bucket, which goes to the winner every year. The winning team's captains get to sign the bucket every year, which is something I have looked forward to for a very long time.
