| Hinsdale Central 12 Waubonsie Valley 10 Rich Zajeski returned the second-half kickoff 48 yards, and quarterback John Whitelaw (66 yards, 20 carries) scored on a 38-yard run on the next play to give No. 12 seed Hinsdale Central (7-3) a 12-7 lead in the Class 8A playoff game in Aurora. After recovering Hinsdale’s errant snap, No. 5 seed Waubonsie Valley (7-3) scored on Mitch Ewald’s 31-yard field goal in the third quarter.
