Summary: Sophomore QB John Whitelaw scored on a 38-yard run on an
option play on the first play from scrimmage in the second half to
give the Red Devils a 12-7 lead. The field position was set up by
Rich Zajeski's 48-yard kickoff return.
Top performers: Hinsdale Central —Whitelaw, 20 carries, 70 yards, TD
(38), 3-for-6 passing, 27 yards, TD (3). Waubonsie Valley—Kenny
Harrington, 14 carries, 61 yards.
Extra point: "A perfect play call," Whitelaw said about his TD run.
"It opened right up. I didn't even have to go past anyone."
